Pre-Conference 3, OSHA 10 Hour Course for General Industry

Session Description:
This preconference session includes an overview of several of the 29 CFR 1910 OSHA standards that apply to
general industry and other related occupational settings. The course covers the OSH Act and other related
consensus standards as they may apply to industry. Electrical safety, machine guarding, lockout tag out , haz
com, process safety management and many others area of safety are covered throughout the course.
In addition, attendees are requested to provide in advance specific concerns they may be experiencing so Mr.
Miller may conduct research to be better resolve these concerns or issues. This action provides for a good class
participation and value added to each participant.
Speaker Bio:
Mr. Miller serves as a consultant for a number of clients throughout Pennsylvania and the Mid Atlantic states. He
has provided several OSHA 10 and 30 hour training course in both General Industry and Construction as well as
First Aid &CPR, Emergency Response, Defensive Driving, Workplace Violence, Hazardous waste and others.
Although most of his time is dedicated to training, he does perform safety audits, accident investigations and
environmental permitting and submissions for clients
Prior to consulting, he served 20 years in the Pharmaceutical industry as a Director and Manager of SH&E
services. His department was responsible for oversight of all related operations, audits and programs.
Mr. Miller completed an Associates Degree in OHST in December of 1993. He acquired his CSP in 2001. He is
currently working on his BS degree in Occupational Safety through Columbia Southern University.
As an ASSE member since 1992, he has served his Chapter over a decade as a Chair for several committees
and in five officer positions including Chapter President. He served on the National Board as Region VI VP for
three years and in the Region as the ARVP of CoPS and Finance.
