The 2007 Spring ROC meeting took place on March 22 and 23 in Myrtle Beach, SC
The Spring Regional Operating Committee meeting was held on March 22 and 23. These meeting are when your chapter leadership works with leaders from all the chapters in our region to make decisions important to everyone. Always make sure your chapter is represented. This year we met at the Kingston Plantation in Myrtle Beach, SC (Home of our Annual Regional Professional Development Conference. The meeting was graciously hosted by the Greater Tidewater Chapter (Big thanks to all the planners from GTC). The minutes from this meeting will be posted on the Regional Communications page just as soon as they are available.

The 2007 Spring PDC Committee Meeting
The torch has been passed and Maryellen Harper is now chairing the committee planning next fall's PDC. If you have been involved with the region at all you know Maryellen as the dedicated Queen of Finances. That duty has been past to Fred Miller so that Maryellen can focus on the PDC. The agenda for the fall is looking good and we are beginning to discuss options for 2008 as well. We even hope to have an on-line registration process available this year (keep your fingers crossed). Keep and eye on the PDC website (link is in the left column) as we will be filling in all the details just as soon as they are finalized.

The 2006 Fall/Winter ROC meeting took place on November 16 and 17 in Greenville, SC.
Thanks go out to the Piedmont Chapter for hosting this meeting and making everyone feel welcome. If you have never been to one of the meetings, and any member can sit in on these meetings, this is were decisions effecting our chapters and their members are discussed, debated and decided by the chapter Presidents and Regional officers.  This is a great time to meet your counterparts from our 15 chapters and share experiences and ideas for making each chapter successful.

The 2006 Fall/Winter PDC Committee Meeting
Prior to the Fall/Winter ROC meeting, your all volunteer PDC Committee met to review all the post-conference survey responses and continue planning the 2007 Conference. This meeting marked the transition of leadership from the outgoing Chairman, Herb Maher to the new 2007/2008 PDC Chairperson, Maryellen Harper of the Chesapeake Chapter. This committee works hard all year to see that every member has affordable access to national quality speakers and networking opportunities.  If you see one of them, please give them a big thank you for all the hundreds of hours they donate to this conference and the money it saves the region!

The Region VI Professional Development Conference in Myrtle Beach was another Big Success!
This was one our best conferences ever and we received lots of useful feedback from the attendees. Thanks again to the all volunteer team of members from Region VI who put on the conference and especially Herb Maher of Greater Tidewater who chaired the conference committee. Next year's PDC dates are September 19 - 21, 2007
